1 min readPatient information
Arthroscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure where problems within a joint are diagnosed and treated using small incisions, a camera, and specialized instruments. It causes less tissue damage compared to open surgery.

When is it considered?
It is frequently preferred for meniscus tears, ligament injuries, cartilage damage, joint mice, and some shoulder problems. It can be used for both diagnosis and treatment.

Treatment approach
Non-surgical methods such as rest, medication, physical therapy, and injections are tried first. If these approaches are insufficient, arthroscopic surgery is considered. Thanks to small incisions, the recovery process is generally much more comfortable and quicker.

About the process
The procedure is often completed the same day or with an overnight hospital stay. Patients can usually get back on their feet quickly. The time to return to sports and strenuous activities varies depending on the type of injury.

You can schedule an evaluation appointment to find out if arthroscopic surgery is right for you.
