OWO FIX (Open Wedge Osteotomy External Fixator) Surgical Simulation

Bone realignment surgery to prevent joint osteoarthritis in bowlegs (O-legs) is demonstrated through simulation using our internationally patented, domestically developed fixator system (OWO-FIX).

“Bowlegs” or “O-legs” deformity (genu varum) is one of the alignment problems also known as a bowleg deformity of the knee joint. Aside from cosmetic concerns, this condition—which can lead to osteoarthritis in the knee joint if left untreated—makes patients candidates for knee replacement surgery in later life. This problem can be treated in younger patients through corrective bone realignment surgeries (osteotomies) performed on the lower leg bone region. For this purpose, you can watch a video demonstrating a simulation of the surgical procedure using the OWO-FIX (Open Wedge Osteotomy External Fixator)—a device we developed in collaboration with TST (Türk Spinal Travma San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti.) and which has received patent approval not only in Turkey but also in Europe and the United States.
